I’ve
always been thinking about the negative impact of robotics and human cloning,
but I’ve never thought about its positive effect on our lives. If in the future
there will be robots to control the work and help other human beings and then
may be everybody can lose their job since there are robots to make everything
is easier. Human cloning sometime can be beneficial for some reason but it also
can make someone lose their personality and identity. In the present world
science as achieved such a high level and new inventions of technology is
growing day by day. But it will take a time for our technology to reach the
level of perfection so cloning of human being doesn’t harm us and robotics won’t
take place of every human being. Robots and human cloning has its own
advantages and disadvantages but we just have to use it in a right way that it doesn’t
harm human lives. No matter what we should not acknowledge the results of
something even if it’s beneficial.

Blog assignment# 7
At the present time science
has achieved such a high level that it became possible for scientists and
researchers to clone human beings. it has become huge concern. Caryl
Churchill's play A Number explores the complexity of the issue
of human cloning. In the play father who is Salter clones his own son for his
own need. In the play it seems that Churchill is pessimistic about
human cloning. In the play the author writes, “They’ve damaged your uniqueness,
weakened your identity” (Churchill 151). It shows that Churchill is concerned
about human identity. By writing this statement he suggests us that nobody has
right to clone human beings, scientists and researchers can't use humans as
research material. Cloning human beings challenges our quality of being human
and our personality.
Based
on this; Human cloning should be banned as soon as possible because creating
humans will make us lose the importance of being human. Researchers and
scientists, who clone human beings for their need; should be punished, Although
technology is trying to convince us to be part of human cloning, it will be
safe and good for us not be part of this antisocial behavior.
advice for future students
Hey
future students, all I want to tell is you hopefully you guys will do all the
work prof. Dragan gives and that will lead you to have accepted grades for Eng103.
He is always been fare to everyone and he helps whenever you are having some
kind of trouble understanding something. It is really great experience to do
research paper; it will help you in the future to prepare any kind of paper. So
good luck to all of you, make sure you guys submit all the work on time so that
you can get good grades. Just concentrate in class and you will understand all
the sources you need to understand. Always do the work before the due date so
you don’t have to worry about it on the last day.

Kurzweil
is optimistic about artificial intelligence. In the singularity is near the
author writes, “machines can pool their resources in a ways that humans cannot”
(Kurzweil 139). By writing this statement he means that machine memory is way
to faster than human’s. Robots can make everything easy in our lives.
In Dream-Logic,
the internet and artificial thought the author writes,
“the man actually sees and senses a rose in his mind; he can imagine its color,
feel and fragrance but for the computer, no imaginary rose exists and
there is no inner mental world; there is only a blank" (Gelernter 207). By
writing this statement the author meant that no matter what computer can never
become stronger than humans, in the sense they can't never act the way human
body and brain works. Humans have ability to sense things; computers will never
be able to sense things the way human does. The feelings and emotions humans
have; computers can't reach it, because the inventors of computers are humans.

My ENG103 research plan#1
Based
on several sources, I will argue that the portrayal of autism in the film
Temple Grandin is largely accurate in its depiction of Grandin's difficulties
with emotions, social relationships and in its depiction of her powerful gift visualization
and became as successful as normal people. I still have to find relevant book
to my topic, but I’m trying my best to find one. I want to use one of
essays from jstore, so I can use it as my source. These two sources are
hard for me to find it, but I am still trying my best to find those sources.

Blog assignment#5
When
it comes to robotics, I am more pessimistic. No doubt it makes everything a lot
easier for us, but still in the future it creates a huge problem for humans. If
everybody start using robots as their helper, than what will humans do? How
are they going to feed their families and themselves? Gelernter writes,
“no computer will be able to think like a man unless it can
free-associate" (Gelernter 202). This statement is true; computer is
technology that humans invented. It can never think the way humans do.
Gelernter also writes," as each of us is surrounded by a growing crowd of
computer-paparazzi all shouting questions and waving data simultaneously, and
no security guards anywhere?" (Gelernter 202). It means that we are
getting surrounded by new technology every day. Invention of technology is
growing day by day and there is no body to control it. It is better for humans
to get new technology in control before it changes our lives in a negative
way.

if there are no emotions, there should be no understanding or relationship between human beings or animals. In order to understand someone individual should situate his or her character in to the person's state or have such kind of feelings; therefore, that individual can understand him or her emotionally. in our daily lives there are many things we do which is related to emotions, all have to go through such obstacles, to courage them to overcome with their problems we understand them which means that there is a connection between humans called emotions. to prove this idea of emotions, "An Anthropologist on mars" by Oliver sacks, shows that even temple grandin, who is autistic, feels the pain of animals. I disagree that "human beings do not really need emotions to connect with other human beings or animals or to behave morally with a sense of right or wrong."
In "an anthropologist on mars" the author writes, "she knows several non-autistic people..who seem able to see what they need to do (sacks 14). this quote illustrates that she knows many people, who are non-autistic and they have the same way of thinking. she is capable enough to create relationship. they have a lot of common things in between, but as we know it is hard for autistic people to build up relationship with someone.if she doesn't have any kind of emotions, she should not be able to understand that they have a lot of common things. also her childhood friend tom who she was very close to, the author writes that "they had sexual feelings; they rarely succeeded in dating or having sexual relationships (sacks 15). of she doesn't have any kind of feeling for her friend, why would she say that they rarely succeeded dating each other? being autistic can't make her emotionless, it is different matter that it is hard for her to feel others or her own emotions.

Invention of new technology is affecting human’s daily lives in a negative way. In the article written by Nicholas war, “is Google making us stupid,” he suggests us that use of internet is breaking our concentration of being focused. In contrast, a Steven pinker in, “how is the internet changing the way you think?” point out that internet is making humans lazy and humans depend on internet. Bases on these sources, I agree that, “the internet is damaging our attention spans and interfering with our ability to think.
In “is Google making us stupid,” Nicholas Carr writes, “and what the net seems to be doing is chipping away my capacity for concentration and contemplation (Carr 20). He suggests us that the internet is breaking our ability of being focused and thinking deeply. By writing this statement the author tells us that, how easily the word “NET” breaks our concentration.
Besides, Steven pinker writes, “also widely rumored are the students who cannot write a paper without instant message abbreviations, emoticons and dubious web citations” (Pinker 30). He tells us that students can’t write their papers without using the instant messaging, email etc. the web usage is distracting for every human being and the outcome of using web all the time might become big problem.
ENG101 blog post # 1
Hello bloggers, my name is mansi and this is my first semester at LaGuardia community college. My goal is to get 24 credits as liberal arts major and transfer to Queens College for pharmacy program. i am more interested in science than humanities that's why, I prefer my career as an pharmacists. Pharmacy is all about chemistry. Sometime it is hard for me to understand all the formulas and stuff but still i really am interested in chemistry so i am positive about pharmacy. Everybody have their own perspectives so there are people who are interested in scientific study and also there are people who are interested in psychological study. I chose this cluster because it is related to brains, minds and consciousness and i always been interested something related to psychology and even though my major would be pharmacy i still would like to take some classes related to psychology. I think that psychologists and humanists do have something meaningful to say because it is related to our daily lives and our minds. So it is important for us to know how our brain and body works. It will help us understand ourselves and others and also it will change the way we think.

Blog post# 3
Richard Dawkins is more pessimistic in the reading of "The selfish Gene." His point of view is not clearly shown about altruism in humans. The example that he gives that, "It is easy to show....of sharing genes" (Dawkins 59); It shows that he is unhappy about humans being altruistic. In a simple way he is trying to say that one doesn't give up for another; if one doesn't gain anything from it. Olivia Judson is more optimistic in the reading of "The selfless gene." As her point of view all the human beings are not selfish. she writes that, "kin selection also.....or in other animals" (Judson 94); it shows that stepparents favor their own children, and than she uses "but" because all the human beings are not same. Just because stepparents favors their own kid doesn't prove that all the human beings are selfish. In 9/11 there were people who helped each other, not to achieve something from them. every human beings helps each other but it depends on situation. Dawkin's made me uncomfortable because he is trying to say that all the human beings think for their own which is not true. sometimes people get in to variable situation where they have to chose their own and sometimes sacrifice the favorite. Judson's idea is easier to understand where Dawkin's idea is not so clear.

For essay # 1, I will use Temple Grandin as my research topic. "Humans being do not really need emotions to connect with other human beings or animal or to behave morally with a sense of right or wrong." I disagree with this quote, because To understand the emotions of someone's you have to think from your heart and you have to feel the same emotion as they feel.
